My story begins back in the early 80s. Being a child
of a Phil Collins fan and a niece of a drumming Phil
Collins fan made it very easy for an early influence.
I can remember singing Phil songs as early as I began
talking. Phil Collins has always been an inspiration
and his music has always been around and loved.
My Uncle was more a fan of Genesis and my father was
more a fan of Phil Collins as a solo artist. I too took
on the beliefs of my father. I can't even think of a
song from him that I would consider a song that I do
not like. Sure, I have my favorites, and no so favorites,
but I have never found myself not singing, or specifically
saying I do not like a song of his.
My fondest memory has to be when I went to see Phil
perform in Saratoga Springs, New York during his Both
Sides tour in 1994. It was a gift from my father. We
only had lawn seats, but it was one of the best days
of my life. I enjoyed his interaction with the audience
and that he acknowledged all the little people out on
the lawn. He played for almost 3 hours. It was one of
the best shows I have ever seen. I have never seen another
band play close to that. I was honored to see him then
and I am honored to have the priviledge to see him this
time around in Anaheim California, which I have floor
seats. Once the show has passed I will post my review
of the show.
I consider Phil Collins my favorite musical artist ever.
However, I like him as a performer and I like the music
he creates. I have never thought of him more than a
performer or tried to understand him or his actions.
I have simply appreciated the music he has given his
fans. Since I decided to create this Web site, I have
begun to do a lot of research and found a lot of new
things about him and his career which I have tried to
share throughout this site. If you have anything else
to share, I would love to hear it. If there is anything
you would like to see on the site, please write us.
